Akshara Singh

Akshara Singh is a famous Bhojpuri actress. She has worked in Hindi Television shows and was a contestant on Bigg Boss OTT. She has a massive fan following, primarily in eastern India, like UP, Bihar, and Jharkhand. Her debut film, Satyamev Jayate, was a blockbuster, and the public has loved her acting since then.

Early Life

Akshara was born on 30^th August 1993 in Mumbai, Maharashtra. Her father, Vipin Indrajeet Singh and her mother, Neelima Singh, are actors. Her family is a native of Patna, Bihar.

Her father has played various roles as a villain in Bhojpuri films. Her mother is also an established actress in the Bhojpuri industry. Her mother is mainly famous for the role of cruel mother-in-law. Her mother's last part was in the TV show Nimki Mukhiya on Star Plus. She also has a brother Keshav Singh, who is a student.

She did her schooling at a private school in Patna and pursued her graduation from Mumbai University.

She started dance training at a very early age, and by the age of 16 years, she became a good dancer. Before coming to the films, she used to do theatres, which polished her acting skills. She is also interested in singing and has sung various songs in Bhojpuri films.

Career

Akshara's debut Bhojpuri film was Satyamev Jayate in 2010, with Ravi Kishan. The movie was directed by Babloo Soni. This gave her overnight success; audiences loved her character in the film. Afterward, she saw many up-and-downs throughout her career.

2011

In 2011, Akshara was featured in Pran Jaye Par Vachan Na Jaye, directed by KD. She starred in this movie with Ravi Kishan and her mother, Neelima Singh. It was a moderate success. Her next film of the year was Hamaar Devdas, again with Ravi Kishan and Monalisa. Next, she did Sajan Chale Sasural opposite Khesari Lal Yadav. It was also the debut movie of Khesari Lal.

2012

Her first release in 2012 was Bajrang and the first with Pawan Singh. She got her next movie in 2012, Saugandh Ganga Maiya Ke, again with Pawan Singh; Rajkumar R. Pandey directed it. Bhojpuri's audience accepted this duo with great love. Her last film for the year was Ek Bihari Sau Pe Bhari with Dinesh Lal Yadav.

2013

In 2013, she starred in seven movies: Rampur Ke Laxman, Diler, Banaraswali, Khoon Ki Holi Ek Pratighat, Balma Biharwala, and Kaalia. Khoon Ki Holi Ek Pratighat was her first female-centric movie, and she was in the lead role.

2014

Akshara started her 2014's journey with Pawan Singh from Kare La Kamaal Dharti Ke Laal, directed by Vimal Kumar. Then, Akshara and Khesari Lal Yadav did Pratigya 2 and Betab. Her next film, Thok Deb, was again with Pawan Singh. Later, she ended the year with Ek Nirahua Sarfira and Jo Jeeta Wahi Sikander.

2015

In 2015, she appeared in movies like Saathiya, Mai Hu Hero No.1, Nirahua Rikshwala 2, and Mai Ke Karz.

In the same year, she also appeared in Hindi TV serials like Kaala Teeka as Madhuri Jha and Service Wali Bahu as Gulkand Ayodhya Prasad, both on Zee Tv.

2016

In 2016, she did just two movies, Sajan Chale Sasural and Hamar Tridev with Khesari Lal Yadav and Pawan Singh, respectively.

2017

In 2017, Akshara did various hit movies in which seven of them were with Pawan Singh. She did Sarkar Raj, Satya, Tabadala, Dhadkan, Hum Hai Lootere, Pawan Raaj, and Saiyan Superstar; all these were with Pawan. Then, she did a film Dilwala with Khesari Lal, which also did well.

2018

In 2018, she did only two movies, one with the Pawan and another with Khesari Lal. They were Maa Tujhe Salaam and Balam Ji I Love You, respectively. Both films were commercially profitable.

2020

Then, Akshara appeared in Love Marriage in 2020 with Amrish Singh, her single film of that year.

2021

In 2021, she got invited to join Bigg Boss OTT, hosted by Karan Johar. She was evicted from the house on 5th September along with fellow contestant Milind Gaba. However, she made a great new fan following due to Bigg Boss. She had lovely relationships with other contestants in the house, though some rivalry arose between her and Shamita Shetty. After that, her next release was Vivah 2.

Akshara's to-be-released projects in the pipeline are Sujangarh, Sabka Baap Angutha Chaap, and Raja Rajkumar 2.

Relationship and Controversy

Akshara had a relationship with Bhojpuri superstar Pawan Singh. They were the most adorable and famous couple in Bhojpuri film Industry. The public liked their Jodi, both in reels and in real life. They did various films from 2014 to 2018, and their relationship was also going along.

Things changed when suddenly Pawan did his second marriage to Jyoti Singh in 2018. The first time he married Priyanka Singh, who did suicide in 2015. His marriage with Jyoti was done overnight while in a relationship with Akshara. No one had any information about their marriage, and even Akshara was unaware of his wedding.

At that time, Akshara was in Patna and didn't come in front of the media. She just put her relationship to an end and moved on. Later, she claimed that Pawan was not satisfied with the marriage. He even wanted her (Akshara) to continue their relationship even after being married. Akshara completely denied his proposal stating that her family culture and tradition have not taught her to be with a married man. Pawan then took this to his ego and told her that she would not be able to survive in the industry without him.

Akshara shared an incident in an interview when she and Pawan were shooting in Silvassa for the movie Maa Tujhe Salaam in 2018, after his marriage. She stated that Pawan came out of his hotel room in a fully drunk situation; he cursed her and threatened her to be with him or face the consequences. The whole hotel staff and visitors saw this incident, and the video of the entire drama also went viral on social media platforms.

Akshara also claimed that he was jealous of her popularity and views of the songs sung by her. She said he used his power and money to stop music companies from releasing her songs. According to her, Pawan tried his best to stop her from flourishing in the Bhojpuri industry, and all this was to satisfy his male ego.

Akshara Singh is active on social media platforms like Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and other short video platforms. She has around 4.7 million followers on Instagram and 3.65 million subscribers on her YouTube channel.

She recently did an interview with superstar Mr Perfectionist Aamir Khan for the promotion of his new film Laal Singh Chadda. She was invited to share her views on his film's song and her life experiences.

Vision for Bhojpuri Film Industry

Akshara has always tried her best to deliver quality films and popularise the Bhojpuri Film Industry. She is discouraged by the notion of Bhojpuri films and their music being stereotyped as vulgar. She accepts that certain elements deliver offensive content because the industry's image has been dented among the audience. For that, she supports and demands strict censorship norms for such content, which is necessary to safeguard the old age rich tradition of Bihar and its music.

She appealed to the public to consume suitable and meaningful content and avoid vulgar music and films; then only the image of Bhojpuri music could be improved.

She has always raised her voice for the support of female actors. She constantly complains about the established patriarchal mindset in the Bhojpuri film industry, where songs are written and composed with the philosophy of pleasing the male audience by picturizing actresses in sensual form with sensual lyrics of the song. She is against the culture of giving credit for the song's success only to the male singer and actor of the music.

Her vision for the Bhojpuri Film Industry is to see Bhojpuri films on the stage of the National Awards, which is solely possible with clean and original Bhojpuri music and movies.
