Bella Hadid

Bella Hadid was born Isabella Khairiah Hadid in Washington, D.C., on October 9, 1996. She was raised with a strong sense of cultural heritage by her parents, Yolanda Hadid, a former model from the Netherlands, and Mohamed Hadid, a Palestinian-Jordanian real estate entrepreneur. Bella grew raised on a ranch in Santa Barbara, California, with her older sister Gigi and baby brother Anwar. Later, the family relocated to Beverly Hills. Bella's early years were shaped by this multicultural and multi-experienced family setting.

After ten years on the ranch, the Hadid family moved to Beverly Hills. During her adolescence, Bella was particularly interested in equestrian sports and had aspirations of competing in the 2016 Summer Olympics. Her attention, though, switched from Olympic sports to horseback riding. In addition, Bella was diagnosed with Chronic Lyme disease in 2012, a health issue that would affect her choices in life and work, along with her mother and brother.

After pursuing her studies, Bella attended Malibu High School, from which she graduated in 2014. She moved to New York City to study photography at the Parsons School of Design as a result of her desire to further her education. She had planned to major in academics at first, but her modeling career took off, so she put her studies on hold for the time being. She does, however, plan to return to school when her modeling business allows.

Bella Hadid's career as a model started early. At the age of sixteen, she worked on her first commercial job for Flynn Skye. Her early experience helped her to pursue modeling jobs on Lesa Amoore's "The Swan Settings" and Holly Copeland's "Smoking Hot." The turning point was when she joined the prestigious modeling agency IMG Models in August 2014.

Her professional modeling career began in September 2014 when she made her runway debut during New York Fashion Week. Bella experienced a breakout year in 2015, the year after. She walked in advertisements for prestigious companies like Victoria's Secret Pink and walked for renowned designers like Tom Ford. Her career as a rising star in the fashion world began with magazine covers for Elle, Harper's Bazaar, and Vogue Australia, among other publications.
