August 2020

Chandan Shetty inflamed controversy with his performance of the traditional ballad "Kolumande Jangamadeva." A segment of the Old Mysuru region has taken issue with the song, arguing that Shetty has wounded their religious feelings by distorting the history of Malemadeshwara Swamy, to whom the song is dedicated. The way the song has been portrayed has also drawn criticism from a number of people. According to them, the rap singer has abused Sharane Sankamma in this song, which in turn insults the whole Sharana culture. After the hatred, the song was taken off from YouTube by Anand Audio Company.

October 2019

On the Yuva Dasara stage, designated for cultural activities, he proposed to reality TV actress Niveditha Gowda during the 2019 Dasara celebrations.
