However, court authorities did not find any evidence against the director, and therefore "victim" had to take back his case. However, the case made headlines in the newspaper and was covered extensively by the media. It might have caused irreparable damage to the personality and reputation of the director. Gitanjali Nagpal was the popular model who was found begging on the lanes of Delhi. The statement in the media made by Kangana brought some unease to the filmmaker. Delhi Commission for Women, a government body that looks upon women's issues, interests, and welfare, took note of the statement made by Kangana Ranaut. • Bhandarkar also came into the pictures with his verbal spat Aishwarya Rai when she was about to start with the shoot of the movie Heroine. Insiders say that Aishwarya Rai was the first contender for the role, and she signed up for the film after leaking the information related to her pregnancy. So, it was obvious, that Aishwarya had to drop out of the movie and had to stop the shoot in the middle of the film. Bhandarkar was disappointed and displeased to stop the movie until Kareen Kapoor agreed to the film.
  • Seema Seth has filed a legal suit of 2.5 Crore against Madhur Bhandarkar in which she had alleged plagiarism. She said that the Fashion movie storyline was taken from her book El-Dorado. However, the author failed to mark his presence in the court on every date of the hearing of his case. Therefore, the verdict came in the favor of the director.
  • An SMS under Madhur Bhandarkar began to be received among aspiring actors in 2013. The fake text opens with that Bhandarkar is in search of 100 girls for a film that would be paid Rs 8000 per day and the shoot period will remain for 20 days. The text also asked for the details from the applicants, like pictures of the applicants, and had to be sent to the given particular email address. However, the Cyber Cell department of the Police took cognizance of the matter, intervened, and took the situation under its control.
