Paras Kalnawat

Paras Kalnawat (born 9 November 1996) is an Indian actor and model best known for his acting roles in Meri Durga as Sanjay Singh Ahlawat, Anupamaa as Samar Shah, and Ishq Aaj Kal as Faraz Sheikh.

Early Life

Kalnawat was born on November 9, 1996, in Bhandara, a district near Nagpur to Nagpur-based entrepreneur Bhushan Kalnawat and Anita Kalnawat. He has an elder sister named Pragati Kalnawat Sharma.

He attended a local school in Nagpur before joining at S.K. Somaiya College of Science, Arts, and Commerce to earn his Bachelor of Commerce degree. Later, he relocated to Mumbai to pursue a career as an actor, where he earned a dancing diploma from Terence Lewis Dancing Academy and professional acting training from Barry John's Acting Classes.

Private Life

Kalnawat revealed in 2021 that he was in a serious relationship with someone not in the entertainment industry. On March 27, 2021, while filming the Holi segment in Anupamaa, he got to know about his father's unexpected death from a heart attack. During his time on Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 10, he disclosed that he had been diagnosed with Spondylitis in November 2022.

Career

Modelling and early work (2016-2020)

Kalnawat began his modelling career in 2016 and then began his acting career in 2017 with an part as Dhruv in Aye Zindagi. He made his television debut in July 2017 opposite Srishti Jain in StarPlus's Meri Durga, where he played the lead character of Sanjay Singh Ahlawat until the show was cancelled in March 2018. In May 2018, he acted as Rehaan Thakur opposite Priyanka Kandwal in Star Plus's Mariam Khan - Reporting Live.

However, due to personal circumstances the couple left the show in September 2018. Later that year, he appeared in episodic roles in Kaun Hai? and Laal Ishq. In 2019, he made his digital debut as Shivam Noon opposite Palak Purswani in ALT Balaji's Dil Hi Toh Hai 2. The same year, he acted antihero Faraz Sheikh in all four seasons of the web series Ishq Aaj Kal against Ankita Sharma and repeated his role as Shivam in Dil Hi Toh Hai 3 with Poulomi Das.

Breakthrough and Recognition (2020-2022)

In March 2020, he signed on to act as an dancer Samar Shah in Anupamaa alongside Anagha Bhosale and Alma Hussein. Due to the show's quick success, he became a household name as Samar, which proved to be a turning point moment in his career. He later appeared in music videos such as Akhaa Vich, Tere Naal Rehna, Khumariyaan, Baadal Barse, Yaar Ki Mehfil, and others.

He later said he would work in the reality program with choreographer Shweta Sharda. He was eliminated in the season's first double elimination on November 6, 2022, ending in tenth place. Since March 2023, he has played Rajveer Luthra opposite Sana Sayyad on Zed TV's Kundali Bhagya.

On Indian Independence Day 2022, he launched the Clean India Campaign and invited his fans to join and support him. Kahnawake is a poet, dancer, and sneakerhead in addition to being an actor.
