The younger of two children born to former Indian Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi and Sonia Gandhi, who went on to become the President of the Indian National Congress, was Priyanka Gandhi Vadra. She was born on January 12, 1972, at Holy Family Hospital in Delhi. Rahul Gandhi, her elder brother, represents Kerala's Wayanad district in the parliament. Priyanka Gandhi is the great-granddaughter of Kamala Nehru and Jawaharlal Nehru, the country's first prime minister, as well as the granddaughter of former and first woman prime minister of India, Indira Gandhi, and politician and freedom fighter Feroze Gandhi.

Welham Girls' School in Dehradun is where Priyanka Gandhi completed her primary education. Rahul and Priyanka were then transferred, for security concerns, to day schools in Delhi. Following the death of Indira Gandhi, Priyanka and her brother Rahul attended home schools due to ongoing threats of terror. She afterward joined the Jesus and Mary Convent in Delhi. In 2010, she earned a bachelor's degree in psychology from Jesus and Mary College, Delhi University, followed by a master's degree in Buddhist studies. Once Priyanka Gandhi Vadra was ordered to leave the government quarters at Lodhi Estate, she moved to Gurugram.

Private Life

Robert Vadra, a prominent businessman in New Delhi who has come under criticism for purported irregularities in land agreements with real estate firm DLF, is the husband of Priyanka Gandhi Vadra. A daughter and a boy have become the next part of the family as their children. A devoted practitioner of Buddhism, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra attributes her introduction to Vipassana meditation-a technique some say leads to mental peace-to her teacher, Buddhist speaker S N Goenka.

Political Profession

Gandhi had been to Rae Bareilly and Amethi on a frequent basis, dealing with the people there herself on behalf of her mother and brother. She assisted in managing her mother's campaign and assisted her brother, Rahul Gandhi, in running his own campaign in the 2004 Indian general election. Her concentration was on the 10 seats in the Amethi Rae Bareilly region, and she spent two weeks trying to settle significant internal party worker infighting over seat assignments while Rahul Gandhi oversaw the statewide campaign in the 2007 Uttar Pradesh assembly elections.

The Early Years

Priyanka Gandhi Vadra actively participated in her mother's and brother's general and assembly election campaigns, although initially opposed her direct engagement in politics. This was before her official entry into politics in 2019. The election slogan "Amethi ka Danka, Bitiya Priyanka" (the clarion call from Amethi is for Priyanka [to stand elections]) originated from her frequent visits to her mother's and brother's constituencies in Rae Bareilly and Amethi, where she interacted directly with the people. This role helped her become well-liked and well-supported in the constituency. She was effective in building her reputation as a cool-headed and well-organized person.

According to sources, Priyanka Gandhi developed speeches for her mother's first campaign in the 2004 Indian general election, where she also served as her mother's campaign manager and assisted in overseeing her brother Rahul Gandhi's campaign. Priyanka Gandhi is thought to be her mother's "chief advisor on political matters".

Official Admission to the Political Sphere

Following her appointment as the AICC General Secretary overseeing the eastern region of Uttar Pradesh and then as the General Secretary overseeing the whole state, Priyanka Gandhi made her official political debut on January 23, 2019. On September 11, 2020, she was named General Secretary, overseeing the whole state of Uttar Pradesh. Alongside protesters opposing the controversial Citizenship Amendment Act, farmers opposing the three-farm law on Delhi's borders, the family of the victim of Hathra's rape, and the families of farmers killed by a speeding SUV allegedly driven by a Union minister's son in Uttar Pradesh, Priyanka delved into a number of issues during that time as an opposition leader and led numerous protests against the BJP (then party in power), which has the control of the state and the union government.

The Uttar Pradesh police twice arrested Gandhi in 2021. Her first imprisonment came when she visited Lakhimpur Kheri in western Uttar Pradesh, where protesting farmers and the convoy carrying Union Minister Ajay Misra's son clashed, resulting in eight deaths. For more than fifty hours, she and a few other party officials were imprisoned at a PAC guest house in Sitapur, which was being utilized as a temporary jail. While traveling to Agra to meet relatives of a man who allegedly died in police custody, she was arrested by the UP Police for the second time in the Agra district on the grounds that there was a ban on gatherings.

Assembly Elections in Uttar Pradesh in 2022

Starting from Barabanki on October 23, 2021, Priyanka Gandhi led the Congress party's campaign for the Uttar Pradesh elections.

In January of 2022, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra and her brother Rahul Gandhi unveiled the Congress's manifesto for the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly election. The platform pledged 40% of seats in the 2018 Uttar Pradesh assembly elections to women in addition to an emphasis on state development and the empowerment of youth and women.

She began the "Ladki hoon, Lad Sakti hoon" campaign in the state, reversing the majority's position on women's emancipation and political engagement. She organized a demonstration on International Women's Day in Lucknow, the state capital, which attracted women from all around the state and was filled with many promises and aspirations.

The Congress Party only managed to win two of the 403 assembly seats in the assembly elections, despite her best efforts to revitalize the party in Uttar Pradesh and implement political reforms.

After The Assembly Elections in Uttar Pradesh In 2022

The Congress party had to come up with new ideas and implement organizational and functional reforms as a result of their combined defeat in four additional states, including UP, which had an impact on her political career.

On her first visit to the state following the elections, she acknowledged the loss in UP and expressed her resolve to carry out her goals for the state by talking about reorganizing the party and advising its members to keep going.

She participated in the Congress' "Mehangai Par Halla Bol" demonstration against inflation and price increases on August 5, 2022, and the Delhi police arrested her.

Additionally, she is said to have actively participated in the Congress presidential election.

2022 Elections in Himachal Pradesh

When it came to the Himachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly election in December 2022, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra led the Congress Party to victory over the opponent Bhartiya Janta Party. Along with Congress leader Sachin Pilot, Himachal Pradesh Congress Committee officials, and volunteers, she led the campaign effectively. Bhupesh Baghel has been the Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh.

With the Parivartan Pratigya Rally, which she organized on October 14, 2022, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra secured the Congress Party's win in the state of Himachal Pradesh and marked the first of five rallies she planned to hold in the state with the goal of improving the state's future.

After paying respects at the Jwala Devi Temple on November 4 alongside Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, Priyanka Gandhi held her third rally in the Kangra district. The gathering was held at Gandhi Ground in Nagrota Bagwan.

The issues that women, youth, and farmers faced-inflation, unemployment, and OPS-were the focus of Priyanka Gandhi's public speech at Kangra.

Speaking at a political gathering in Kangar, Haroli, on November 7, in the Una district, she asked attendees to uphold the custom of switching governments every five years and criticized the BJP for having a "double-engine government", raising concerns about their accomplishments for the state over the previous five years.

On November 10, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra wrapped off her campaign with ten promises that were the cornerstone of the whole campaign during her fifth and last event in Sirmaur.

She only joined Instagram in the summer of 2016, but already she has more than one million followers. Her account is verified, much like the two accounts she follows, which are her brother Rahul's and the Indian National Congress Party.

Her following on Facebook exceeds 4.7 millions, indicating a more substantial presence. Facebook and Instagram both share comparable stuff. She also uses Twitter (now called X).
