Early Life

Hyderabad is the city where Ritu Taran Varma was born and raised. Her father is a native of Madhya Pradesh. She can speak Telugu with ease and does the dubbing for her own Telugu movies.

She completed her intermediate studies at Villa Marie College for Women in Hyderabad and earned her engineering bachelor's degree from Malla Reddy Engineering College. After receiving her diploma, she competed in the Miss Hyderabad Beauty pageant and was named the first runner-up.

Career

Varma became well-known for her role in the Telugu short film "Anukokunda." In addition to earning Varma the Best Actor (Female) award, the short film won the Best Film prize at the 48HR Film Project competition in 2012.

Later, in 2013, the short film was shown at Cannes' Short Film Corner. In "Baadshah," her debut feature film, she played Pinky, a supporting character. She agreed to star in "Prema Ishq Kaadhal," a movie in which she portrayed a costume designer opposite Sree Vishnu.
