At the start of the poem, the poet highlights the roles that trees play on the planet Earth. She starts by describing that the trees are the home to different kinds of birds. Then, she continues to describe that trees are essential for humans to generate food, and trees provide manure, timber, etc., to humans. The poet requests the readers to consider all the roles and responsibilities of trees and that humans should be thankful for trees. The main motive of the poet for writing this poem is to spread awareness among the readers regarding the importance of trees. Most importantly, the poet used very subtle language.
