Protest of Vinesh Phogat and WrestlersIn January 2023, WFI president Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh was accused of sexually assaulting women wrestlers by Vinesh Phogat, Bajrang Punia, and wrestler Sakshi Malik. They requested the Prime Minister and the Home Minister to step in, but the protest was canceled. On April 23, seven female wrestlers, among them a minor, attempted to file a complaint against the federation; however, registration was refused by the police.
