Wayne Parnell was a member of the golden U-19 generation that produced some exceptional Test players. Parnell was an important lower-order batsman and strike bowler who played for Delhi Capital (previously Delhi Daredevils) before signing a contract with Pune Warriors India. Parnell, who is the youngest player in Cricket South Africa history to be signed to a central contract, was called up to the senior team for the first time in January 2009 during a limited-overs series in opposition to an outstanding Australian team.
