Wayne Parnell is a professional cricket player from South Africa. He is a left-arm seamer with excellent swinging speeds. Wayne Parnell was a member of the golden U-19 generation that produced some exceptional Test players.

Parnell was an important lower-order batsman and strike bowler who played for Delhi Capital (previously Delhi Daredevils) before signing a contract with Pune Warriors India. Parnell, who is the youngest player in Cricket South Africa history to be signed to a central contract, was called up to the senior team for the first time in January 2009 during a limited-overs series in opposition to an outstanding Australian team. On January 13, he made his T20I debut. Two weeks later, he made his ODI debut against the same opponents.

Parnell was included in the South African team for the 2011 World Cup, although he only participated in one match. Despite his performance in the 2012 T20 World Cup, Parnell was not given any consideration for the 2013 Champions Trophy. Following some strong performances, he was added back to the South African cricket team for the 2015 World Cup. A few years later, the 32-year-old seamer left South African cricket to play in the County Championship and signed a contract with Worcestershire.

For their ODI series against the Netherlands in November 2021, Parnell was unexpectedly called back to the national team.
