Maruti Suzuki Fronx Review

Introduction

Maruti Suzuki Fronx launched at the 2023 Greater Noida Auto Expo. The Fronx, a compact SUV based on the Baleno hatchback, is an example of a company's acceptance of the SUV body type. Fronx qualifies for small vehicle tax incentives because it is under 4 meters long. Maruti Suzuki anticipates that the vehicle's youthful appeal and feature-rich interior will draw urban buyers beyond its outer appearance.

Maruti Fronx Review

If you think about it, the car sector is fundamentally about gaps. A manufacturer feels that a market needs to be satisfied. It decides to take action and imagines a product that it thinks would close the gap and satisfy the need. Sometimes, it also seeks to fill a void that no one anticipated to establish itself as a pioneer in that field. During the Fronx media drive, Maruti Suzuki representatives expressed that a vehicle was required to bridge the gap between the Brezza and the Baleno, or "premium hatchback" and "compact SUV," respectively. They believed many potential customers desired an SUV that looked stronger than a Baleno but needed to prepare to pay Brezza-level prices. As a result, they developed the Fronx, an "entry-level SUV."

Is this a situation where a manufacturer created a demand because it felt like it, or is it one where a genuine market need was met? The name joins a long and distinguished tradition of Japanese car names that raise an eyebrow, like Bongo Friendee, Naked, Active Urban Sandal, Mysterious Utility Wizard, and numerous others. However, there's no denying that the name causes you to pause and give it a second thought.

When it comes down to it, the Fronx is a Baleno crossed with stilts. Both vehicles are built on Maruti Suzuki's HEARTECT platform and have a 2,520 mm wheelbase; however, the Fronx is slightly higher, longer, and broader since it has better ground clearance than the Baleno as well as larger bumpers and extra body cladding. It's safe to conclude that the Fronx, which combines characteristics of a Baleno, Grand Vitara, and Brezza, doesn't resemble the Baleno and has its personality. Take a look at the front, for instance. The tri-LED headlamp design, the chrome connecting strip, the tri-LED DRL clusters, the prominent grille, the silver scuff plate, and the tri-LED headlight design are all present. When viewed from the side, the Fronx features a sloping roof with rails and reasonably powerful character lines that meet the end of the roof at the back. It also has some flared wheel arches, butterfly-wing diamond-cut alloy wheels that fill out those arches well, and a sloping roof. The rear has a highly noticeable silver scuff plate, connected taillights that resemble the Brezza (and the GV), and vertical light clusters at the bottom. The Fronx is a downsized Grand Vitara while looking sufficiently distinct from the Baleno.

The top-end vehicle includes all the features you would anticipate in this price range, including a Smartplay Pro+ touchscreen infotainment system (which is a little cluttered), automatic climate control, wireless smartphone charging (which the Baleno lacks), wireless Android Auto and Apple Car Play, a 360-degree camera, a 6-speaker Arkamys audio system, cruise control, paddle shifters (in the automatic), connected car technology, a HUD, keyless entry, reverse parking sensors, The seats, both front and back, provide much of back and gluteal support, but they lack some thigh support, which is a typical problem in many automobiles. Four adults can travel in the Fronx with plenty of legroom in the rear, and the 308-liter boot can hold a fair amount of luggage despite having a somewhat high loading lip.
