Samsung Galaxy A03 Review

The Samsung Galaxy A03 is a low-cost smartphone with a 6.5-inch display, a 48 Megapixel dual-camera system, and a big 5000mAh battery.

Samsung Galaxy A03 Review

The Samsung Galaxy A03 is available in the following storage options: the 3 RAM + 32 GB version pricing at 7900 rupees and the 4 RAM + 64 GB version pricing at 11,499 rupees. Let's get started with the Samsung Galaxy A03 review.

Samsung Galaxy A03 Specs

The Samsung Galaxy A03 boasts a 6.5-inch PLS LCD screen with 720 x 1600 pixels and a pixel density of 270 ppi. It runs Android 11 and is powered by a Unisoc SC9863A processor. The Smartphone has Rear Camera with 48 Megapixels and an LED Flash and a front-facing camera with 5 Megapixels.

The Samsung Galaxy A03 has Dual SIM, 3GB and 4GB RAM, Internal Memory (32GB, 64GB, or 128GB), and Expandable MicroSD (up to 1TB). The Smartphone also has 4G LTE and 3G HSPA+ networks, Bluetooth 5.0, USB 2.0 Micro, and a 3.5mm audio jack. A 5000mAh Lithium Ion battery powers it and has a 10W charging capacity. The Galaxy A03 is priced at Rs.7900 in India.

Benefits

  1. The performance is better than predicted.
  2. A large 5000 mAh battery combined with a 720p display provides an extremely long battery life.
  3. The core of One UI is perfectly executed in One UI Core.
  4. 3.5mm headphone jack (always a benefit when compared to a flagship)
  5. Support for dual SIM cards and micro SD cards
  6. Surprising low-light indoor shots
  7. The speaker is loud and clear, with no distortion.

Drawbacks

  1. The Unisoc CPU needs to be better supported for gaming.
  2. The application of a Micro USB port
  3. Display resolution of 720p with a notch
  4. Even having a 48MP primary camera, the camera quality is poor.
  5. Taking out the provided headphones
  6. There is only one speaker.
  7. Support for software updates needs to be clarified.

Display and Design

The front display of the Samsung Galaxy A03 is 2.5D, while the back features gently curved edges. It makes it feel slimmer than its 9.1mm thickness, yet it has a modest weight, weighing 196 grams.

The back material, camera bump, and frame are all plastic and have a cross-hatched design on the rear. The power and volume controls are located on the right, the slot for SIM cards is on the left, and the micro-USB port and 3.5mm audio jack are at the bottom.

The 6.5-inch LCD screen offers a resolution of 720 x 1600 pixels or HD+, a pixel density of 270 PPI, and a tiny "Infinity-V" notch. It's a typical screen type with essential color quality and contrast at this price point.

It has enough brightness for indoor use. However, under brilliant sunshine, it seems pretty dark.

Gameplay & Performance

The Unisoc SC9863A CPU and 3GB or 4GB of RAM power the Samsung Galaxy A03. Naturally, more RAM equals higher performance.

It has reviewed its gaming capabilities with GameBench Pro by measuring the average frame rate while playing Mobile Legends at a high graphics level. As a result, there is only 91% stability and an average frame rate of 55 fps. A smooth performance should be 60 frames per second with complete stability.

When the graphics quality is set to the lowest, the average frame rate is 59 fps with 98% stability.

Regarding overall performance, the Samsung Galaxy A03 takes roughly a second to load Facebook and 1.5 seconds to load YouTube fully. This is OK if you're used to inexpensive phones, but it might be unpleasant if you're used to a mid-range smartphone.

Scrolling is acceptable for the price; however, there are minor delays. When you watch a video or read an article, there won't be any issues, but stutters start to occur when you watch another video or swipe to another homepage.

Thankfully, the One UI Core 3.1 software has a smooth, clean appearance and improved usability.

Camera Performance

The Samsung Galaxy A03 has a 48MP + 2MP dual-camera system on the rear. The high-resolution camera is good on paper, but the resultant photographs may use some work.

The photographs captured by the 48MP camera are brilliant and detailed; however, they tend to overblow in bright areas. As a result, the pictures appear pale and with subdued hues.

Low-light pictures of light displays appear good, but they quickly become blurry.

The selfie camera has a similar story. The most uncomplicated technique to take selfies with the Samsung Galaxy A03 is to find appropriate lighting that isn't too dark but also not too bright.

Security, Connectivity, and Audio Quality

With a 4G LTE connection, the Samsung Galaxy A03 is a dual-SIM smartphone. In regions with strong cellular service, the mobile internet speed is decent.

Through the earphone, voice calls are apparent; however, the loudspeaker needs to be improved. Free earbuds are included in the box, and they seem decent.

A fingerprint scanner is one feature that is absent from this Smartphone. Although an actual fingerprint sensor would have been more handy and safe, it allows face unlock.

Life of the Battery and Charging Time

The Samsung Galaxy A03 has a large 5000mAh battery that runs for up to two days with regular use.

However, it takes around 3 hours to recharge the gadget from 0% to 100% entirely. Given that the included charger is just 10W, that is a considerable amount of time.

Additionally, rather than the more recent USB Type-C connector, it charges via a micro-USB 2.0 connection.

Conclusion

The Samsung Galaxy A03 is an excellent smartphone at 7900 rupees. It's enough for attending online classes and infrequent social media use.

However, being a low-cost smartphone, its cameras must be improved, and its gaming performance is unimpressive. On this Smartphone, Mobile Legends may be played at the lowest graphics setting, but we couldn't recommend playing PUBG or Call of Duty. The extended battery life is a benefit, but the lengthy charging period cancels out the benefits.
