Movie story of Drishyam 2

Drishyam 2 Review

In its first part, the film depicted how Vijay, portrayed by Ajay Devgn, came to the rescue of his daughter, Anju, who had unintentionally caused the death of Sameer, a police officer's son, by striking him with an iron rod in their bathroom.

To safeguard his family and specifically his daughter, Ajay Devgn's character devised a detailed plan to establish a strong alibi, bury Sameer's body in a secure location, and shield his loved ones from the repercussions. Interestingly, Sameer's mother happened to be a police officer herself, played by Tabu. Despite the police's relentless efforts, Vijay's alibi remained airtight and impenetrable.

In Drishyam 2, the dynamics shift significantly, raising the stakes again. The first film's conclusion reveals that Vijay had concealed Sameer's body at an under-construction site near the Pondolem Police Station?the station involved in the initial investigation. Subsequently, it is disclosed that a criminal named David had witnessed Vijay burying the body that fateful night. Motivated by a substantial reward for information on Sameer's killer, David informs the police that he had seen Vijay carrying out the act. However, the police needed to corroborate this testimony to make an arrest. With David's statement, the authorities had sufficient grounds to apprehend Vijay.

However, the police were well aware of Vijay's knack for staying one step ahead of them. Despite their best efforts, they could never locate the body, leading to Vijay's release on bail. In Drishyam 2, we witness the relentless determination of the police, driven by their connection to the case. Recognizing Vijay's deep passion for cinema, we see him channel his creativity by writing a script reminiscent of the events in Drishyam 1. To ensure that all loose ends are securely tied, he seeks the assistance of a skilled writer. The biggest vulnerability in Vijay's plan lies in the possibility that the police might discover Sameer's body precisely where David had directed them.

In his quest to tie up loose ends, Vijay encounters another family who had suffered the loss of their son, who happened to be around the same age as Sameer. Building a strong bond with this family, Vijay goes above and beyond to assist them, even contributing to their daughter's wedding. Eventually, Vijay makes a heartfelt request to this family?to hand over their son's bones to him. Given Vijay's immense support, it was difficult for them to refuse. Vijay's plan now revolved around swapping Sameer's bones with the other children. This way, when the body was discovered and subjected to DNA testing, it would be revealed that the deceased boy was not Sameer. Vijay befriends a security guard at the facility and successfully carries out the bone swap. As fate would have it, the body is discovered, and the DNA tests yield negative results. Vijay once again finds himself a free man.

One can argue that Vijay's actions classify him as a criminal. In contrast, others may view him as a family-oriented individual with morally questionable ethics, willing to go to any lengths to safeguard his loved ones. However, one aspect remains constant?Vijay harbours a conscience burdened by the guilt associated with Sameer's demise. Perhaps he found himself at a crossroads of impossible circumstances. Where do you stand on this matter, and would you make the same choices in Vijay's position?
