"Pop Kaun" is a series that was released on the date of 17th of March, 2023; the writers of this series are "Farhad Samji, Sparsh Khetarpal, and Tasha Bhambhra," also Farhad Samji is the director of this series. Farhad Sami also acted in a particular role in this series. We can see this series on the platform of Disney Plus Hotstar. All the underrated comedians of the film industry are present in this series; those are Rajpal Yadav, Johny Lever, Saurabh Shukla, Nupur Sanon, Kunal Khemu, and Satish Kaushik.

Storyline

The leading male role is played by Kunal Khemu (who plays the role of Sahil Trivedi in the movie); Sahil is the youngest child of Brij Kishore (Johnny Lever is playing this role); Brij Kishore is a Member of Parliament from a leading political party. Sahil's catchphrase is, "Do you know who his father is?"

Sahil's girlfriend is Pihu (actress Nupur Sanon plays this role); Pihu is the daughter of Don Karamjeet Biswajeet Chaupala (actor Saurabh Shukla plays this role); he is also known as KBC in the series. KBC is very serious about a person's origin and inheritance. But the matter of inheritance and origin is like a piece of cake to Sahil, as he is the son of MP. Certain occurrences prompt uncovering stowed-away mysteries, and Sahil becomes a taken-on child of Brij Kishore Trivedi. The ensuing series of events is filled with confusion, nonsensical scenes, and over-the-top fights, all thanks to Farhad Samji, who serves as the writer and director and plays the role of Sahil's older brother Balwan.

Explanation

There are so many Comedy movies with classic filmmakers like Priyadarshan and Hrishikesh Mukherjee, and a couple more have made characters that make us laugh from the bottom of our hearts even if we watch that movie or scene for the eleventh time. Farhad Samji is not good at writing jokes and punch lines.

One of the best things about this series is that this series consists of only six episodes of around forty minutes. The streaming of this series, "Pop Kaun," is not about finding a reason to laugh till the end when one gets tears in their eyes after excess laughing, but it is the opposite; it will bring tears to the eyes of viewers by thinking that why did they invest their time and money to watch this series.

There are some good jokes from which we can get some laughter when we are watching some comedy series, but this is only because of the acting and joke-presenting style of the big actors that are very good at cracking jokes. Otherwise, the jokes were presented in a way that one can think that some newcomers or children were cracking them.

Acting

It is a matter of concern that many filmmakers prioritize casting popular actors over talented ones, which undermines the integrity of the filmmaking process. This practice is unjustifiable and must be addressed. Speaking of entertainment, Pop Kaun? is a renowned show showcasing some of India's best comedians. With a diverse range of talents, from Saurabh Shukla to Johny Lever, they have created a platform that brings humor and joy to the audience. While Nupur Sanon has not yet been included in their lineup, it is evident that "Pop Kaun" has a wealth of exceptional talent they could utilize even more effectively.

The reality of this show is that there are only a few watchable scenes, and it is possible only because of the actors and actresses who worked hard in the series; the rest of the crew members unintentionally made some of the most fragile content in the past without being commended. Johny Lever, Saurabh Shukla, Satish Kaushik, and Rajpal Yadav acted well.

Kunal Khemu is sincere in what he does; as an actor, he deserves so much; this world understood his value in the movie that was got damned, but due to his acting, he sparked in the movie named Kalank. This series is similar to "Kalank," Kunal worked hard, but this series will also be doomed. The Role of Nupur Sanon is only for inspiration and is edge stupid as one can expect a lady in the universe under the direction of director Samji.

Anyone kindly clears up for the audience what Jamie Lever did wrong in her past to deserve this? We did not understand what exactly Jamie's role was in the series. Is it true or not that she was wandering around the set when Samji said we should show her (Jamie) for the shortcomings in a casing, so make her dress like whatever number of side characters as possible? She looked like her Instagram version in the series, which has no sense, or there is no outcoming of this.

Flaws in Series

This series is composed by Farhad Samji with his long-term colleagues Sparsh Khetarpal and Tasha Bhambra; it looks like every second line in the series is taken from WhatsApp, which we used to get irritated in 2015, and now we are in 2023! We will be seen so many movies which have been written by these writers (Farhad, Sparsh, and Tasha), like Housefull 4, Baaghi 3, Laxmii, and Bachchhan Paandey; one of the recent movies which are written by these writers and released is "Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan," and we all know about that movie, even this movie was not able to collect as much money takes to make this

At some point in the series, the director attempts to show a parody of Anurag Kashyap's movie Gangs of Wasseypur by mentioning Faisal's notable dialogue. Farhad had an idea to modify the syntax of the OTT shows by adding lip-synchronized songs in each episode; however, things didn't turn out that way. Similarly, Milap Zaveri seems to have been an expert on the show, as it reflects the diversity of India by showcasing men from different religious backgrounds standing together. Kunal's speech toward the show's end is a defining moment because the show lacked a strong storyline until that point

Conclusion

We can say that this series is not worth your time, although all the famous actors, who are known for bringing laughter to the face of their audience, are acting in this series, this series failed miserably to bring even a smile. So, you can skip this series this weekend and invest your time and money in another show.
