Reviews

Salaga, played by Duniya Vijay, makes the statement, "World yavude coloral edru, ee underworld maatra kemp coloralle eruthe" (Even though the world is filled with various colours, only red is the shade of the underworld), which pretty much sums up the character's essence. Salaga is a scathing, brutal, and merciless gangster in the movie. In this revenge drama, both his personal arc and the depiction of the neighbourhood underworld are practically flawless. The action scenes are imaginative and well-executed, the character performers deliver excellent work, and the picture is superbly made. Saying that a Kannada film hasn't been produced recently that is as unique wouldn't be an exaggeration.

A gang conflict that Salaga (Duniya Vijay) started when he was incarcerated. But once he is released from prison, the true conflict starts, and the level of violence increases dramatically. Salaga's life as a mob enforcer is put to an end when he meets Samrat, a tough police officer (Dhananjay). Salaga explores the factors that lead to gangster behavior and how society can pressure even the most honourable individuals to accept vice. And the metamorphosis of the title character serves to illustrate this. The dramatic story also features a lovely love story featuring Sanjana (Sanjana Anand) & familial feelings.

Duniya Vijay experiences a turning point with Salaga. He was able to focus on the ideal topic that suited his personality and fame because to his years of expertise. With this movie, the actor, who became well-known thanks to Suri's Duniya, has started his second career. The Rise of a Don & his backstory are the two main arcs of the movie, according to Vijay, who also co-wrote the script. If the two narratives had been presented to us simultaneously, that would have been preferable. Salaga is nonetheless a success for a first-time director, nevertheless.

The best dialogue in this mafia drama is supplied by Sudhi, while Maasthi's discourse is one of the show's key cornerstones. After Salaga, the actor known as Cockroach Tagaru will go by the name Savitri. As the main character, Vijay does not take up the full screen; instead, he makes room for others.

He gives a level-headed performance and uses few dialogues. Compared to his prior role in Tagaru, Dhananjay's role is completely different, and he goes above and above for it. The supporting cast, which includes Sampath, Yash Shetty, Bhaskar BV, Achyuth Kumar, Sanjana Anand, and Sridhara, also draws attention. Charan Raj's background music and songs give the movie a lot of value and enhance the emotions. A few of the songs are already top-charters. The well-known advertising song Tininga Mininga Tishaaa, however, is not available to watch on the big screen. The underworld is depicted in realistic detail by cinematographer Shiva Sena, who also has an amazing attention to detail. Overall, Salaga brings forth the best in director Duniya Vijay. With producer KP Sreekanth's strong backing, the gangster movie is expected to please its intended demographic.

Audience Reviews

Salaga Movie Review

"Gritty brutality, raw action, script, soundtrack, and artistic direction are the key components of Salaga, a stylized/raw adventure thriller that is transformed into a gangster movie. Together with Daali Dhananjay as a "Khadak" cop, Duniya Vijay turns in a standout effort in writing, directing, and acting. I'm reminded of the 2017 Korean film The Outlaws by the parts played by Duniya Vijay & Daali Dhananjay. Sanjana Anand receives a lot of acting opportunities and performs admirably in the movie. Sampath Maitreya of "Kavaludaari" fame, Yashwanth Shetty, Chennakeshava, and Neenasam Ashwath performed admirably in their respective roles."

"Watching this movie is recommended. In my opinion, the characters that play these roles in the film are what matter most. It wasn't really necessary, and I didn't feel bored anywhere. Finally, the film was excellent. One more thing I should point out is that Savitri is playing Mr. Cockroach here, and I have no doubt that he would be fit for a raw-and-mixed comedic part on the big screen. I'm sure many directors have considered it. Wishing Mr. Vijay Kumar & his group well at Salaga."

Cinema Express

Salaga explores the motivations behind being a gangster and how even the good people are pressured by society to turn towards darkness. And the metamorphosis of the title character serves to illustrate this. A lovely love storyline featuring Sanjana (Sanjana Anand) and familial feelings are also there in the tough story. A pivotal moment in Duniya Vijay's career occurred with Salaga. He was able to focus on the ideal topic that suited his personality and fame because of his years of expertise. With this movie, the actor, who became well-known thanks to Suri's Duniya, has started his second career. Ott Play

Duniya Salaga, Vijay's directorial debut, is currently playing in theatres with little rivalry at the box office due to the cancellation of Kotigobba 3 shows around the state. It comes out that Vijay has decided to make his directorial debut with a straightforward story of revenge. But what really jumps out is how expertly he handles the story, which elevates this gangster movie to a worthwhile one-time viewing.

In only a little over two hours, the actor outlines the reasons Salaga is such a feared figure in the mafia world, the events that shaped him into the person he is, and even manages time for a little romance. There isn't much to report in terms of a story. However, the storyline of this movie is never, ever just about Vijay, even if he directed it and most of the other characters receive their share of the spotlight. Dhananjaya, who plays the brash but smart ACP Samrat, shares perhaps equal screen time with Vijay and is delightful to witness in this persona. Sanjana Anand, who plays Salaga's love interest, only has a song and a few scenes to declare her enduring devotion to him. Given that the emphasis of the movie is on everyone's skill with machetes and bloody mayhem, the actress is completely wasted.

Vijay is most convincing as Salaga as an actor because of his strong screen presence. He has jokes, but they aren't over the top, and for that, dialogue writer Maasti ought to get praise. Depending on the circumstances, the dialogues are just the appropriate mix of wit, drama, and strength. The music, which is excellent and ideally suited for the events on screen, is credited to Charan Raj & Naveen Sajju. The most notable song is actually the album's title track.
