Review

Ranga Ranga Vaibhavanga, a brand-new Telugu movie that was directed by Gireesaaya and starred Vaishnav Tej and Ketika Sharma, draws extensively on Telugu films from the middle of the 1990s and the beginning of the 2000s for its plot. We're curious if the Story was intended to evoke memories of a period when things were much more straightforward and to discuss family relationships and friendships. Still, because something needs to be fresh about the subject or how it is handled, the movie comes off as stale and uninteresting.

Rishi, a boy, and Radha, a girl, were born in the same hospital. Because the families live nearby, their parents are the closest friends. Until a fight separates them, the guy and the girl are childhood friends who later have a romantic relationship. Despite having a hidden affection for one another, the two egotistic individuals gave each other the cold shoulder for ten years.

In the medical college, Radha (Ketika Sharma) and Rishi (Vaishnav Tej) are still at odds as adults. As new as the introduction of colas following liberalization are the campus scenes. When the jokes aren't about stethoscopes and lab coats, they become old and dull, similar to the campus comedies from the 1980s and 1990s, when the lecturer (Ali) is only there to heighten the humor.

Ranga Ranga Vaibhavanga Review

The movie includes moments drawn from Nuvve Kaavali, Nuvvu Leka Nenu Lenu, and Ninne Pelladatha, among other films. Arjun Prasad, Radha's older brother, and a rising politician (Naveen Chandra), subverts the burgeoning romance and the relationships between the parents. Unlike Rishi and Radha, whose personalities fit the typical hero-heroine mold, Arjun's character has room for complexity. We only hear sporadically about the need to uphold honor in the family and at business. It becomes evident that the surface is one-dimensional as the Story progresses because of how inconsistently it is written.

Thanks to a few sporadically funny interactions and Devi Sri Prasad's music, the first hour can be seen. The Story develops along predictable lines after the crisis point, tearing the families apart, which makes the already antiquated plotline look dull. To fit in some more corny jokes involving a different instructor (Raja Ravindra) and Sathya, who makes a brief cameo, a portion about the Araku Valley medical camp is inserted.

Numerous nods to Pawan Kalyan and references to the well-known Rajinikanth language throughout Vaishnav Tej's film. In a movie that doesn't sufficiently develop any characters, his performance and Ketika's are passable. Most of the time, we observe Naveen Chandra's monochromatic avatar fret and sulk.

In their cliche-filled roles as parents, V K Naresh, Prabhu, Tulasi, and Pragathi manage to pass. A character causing most of the conflict between the two families is slapped by Prabhu at the conclusion, which is a welcome development. If he had given the slap much earlier, the movie would have ended sooner!

Ranga Ranga Vaibhavanga fails to let the audience feel a kinship with the characters despite being a story about friendships and family ties. A play that is mired in cynicism and a time paradox.

Ranga Ranga Vaibhavanga Review

Performance

The main characters, Vaisshnav Tej and Ketika Sharma deliver standout performances that highlight the family drama's key strengths. Vaisahnav Tej provides a brilliant performance while navigating the complexity of his character. Ketika Sharma puts together an adequate performance. Vaishnav Tej and Ketika Sharma, who play the leads, have fantastic chemistry. A good role is given to Naveen Chandra as Ketika Sharma's brother. Satya cracks us up in the part of the village sarpanch. The actors Rajkumar, Prabhu, Naresh, Tulasi, Subbaraju, and the rest all assist in defending their characters.

Technical

As for Gireeshaaya's work, he picked a straightforward plot and expertly woven the parts into it, although the plot is formulaic. It is the appropriate venue for the love story of the lead characters and the interaction between the two families. It emphasizes the pre-climax and pre-interval drama. It has good tunes and comedy. Devi Sri Prasad did an excellent job with the music. Shamdat Sainudeen did some incredible cinematography work. Editing is decent, and production values are exceptional.

Reception

The Times of India's Neeshita Nyayapati gave the film a 2 out of 5-star rating and commented, "Ranga Ranga Vaibhavanga is an antiquated mess that seems like a mishmash of movies you've previously seen." Balakrishna Ganeshan of The News Minute rated the movie a 2 out of 5 stars. He said, "Director Gireesaaya borrows scenes from old major films like Manasantha Nuvve, "Love Story," and other films comfortable to Telugu viewers, using them as a starting point to evoke the same feelings instead of writing a new story." The movie received a two-star review from the Sakshi Post, with the critic writing, "Ranga Ranga Vaibhavanga is a routine drama and predictable story."
